We are thrilled to introduce two powerful features that will revolutionize your governance experience with Decube: Group-Based Access Control Policies and Approval Workflow. These enhancements bring enhanced control and streamlined workflows to the Decube platform, empowering you to efficiently manage user access and ensure data integrity.
Decube's Group-Based Access Control Policies put you in charge of defining user permissions and access levels. With this feature, you can easily manage what users can view and modify within your Decube organization account. From catalog attributes to glossary descriptions and even administrative tasks, you have the flexibility to fine-tune access based on sources, administration, or specific modules. Learn more here.
If you’ve been with us since before this launch, don’t worry. We aim to make this experience as seamless as possible for you and your team.
For users who were previously Members, they will seamlessly transition into the new framework through a legacy group called Members (Legacy). This group retains its existing policies and maintains access to data sources, ensuring a smooth adoption period. As you explore the enhanced features, you can easily manage access for this group according to your organization's requirements.
Users who were previously Admins, they will be transitioned to the “Owners” group, which is explained more in the next section. This means that moving forward, the concept of “Admin” and “Member” in the User Management UI is deprecated. Learn more here.
Introducing the "Owners" group, where you take the lead. As the first user to sign up for your organization, you automatically become an Owner. This group grants you comprehensive permissions to navigate and explore all areas of the Decube app. You can add other users to the Owners group, granting them the same extensive access and capabilities. Say goodbye to unreviewed changes made to your Catalog directly and say hello to the Approval Workflow. Changes made to the Catalog and Glossary will now follow a streamlined approval process. Simply create a change request and select an approver with the necessary permissions. Approvers will receive an email summarizing the proposed changes, along with a link to approve the request. This process ensures data integrity and compliance, simplifying your workflows and saving you time. Learn more here.
